Turkey are to play Ghana in Istanbul on August 14 after cancelling a friendly match against Uzbekistan due to "extreme heat."

Temperatures reached 38 degrees in Tashkent on Tuesday and are expected to be in the mid-30s next week, when the game is scheduled.

Official research by FIFA’s medical committee shows that players become fatigued after playing for 51 minutes in 30 degree heat.

The Turkish Football Federation said the game was cancelled following "unexpected weather conditions" and also cited a failure from the Uzbek Federation to "provide the full requirements" for organising the game.
