Inter star relishing Mourinho reunion
Inter Milan's Esteban Cambiasso said he was looking forward to a reunion with Jose Mourinho when Inter face Chelsea in a pre-season friendly on Thursday.
The 32-year-old midfielder said he was expecting a tough challenge when Mourinho's team faced the Nerazzurri, who finished ninth in Serie A last season.
He said: "We’re in a different phase compared to them.
"We've got to put a negative season behind us, while they are aiming to rise to the next level. This difference could well be evident, but we still cannot play thinking that it's OK to get a hiding.
"Taking a hiding is never useful and never does you any good. We are Inter, and we are obliged to play to win - always."
Mourinho led Inter to the treble in 2010 before moving to Real Madrid, and Cambiasso said he and his team-mates remained indebted to the Portuguese coach.
"There was an enormously intense path which took us to where we got, involving lots of different people, and that’s why it’s going to be so nice to greet him again and also all of his staff,” he said.
"He says Inter was an important part of his career and his personal growth, which is not only made up of football matches."
