Kevin Mirallas opened the scoring for Everton just past the hour mark, with a spectacular individual goal.

Just as the Toffees looked set to claim a valuable scalp, Kwadwo Asamoah equalised for the Italian champions ten minutes from time.

The match went straight to penalties, with the biggest surprise of the match coming when Andrea Pirlo missed a chance to hand Juve the win from the spot.

Everton goalkeeper Tim Howard then saved Federico Peluso's spot kick to hand Roberto Martinez's side a 6-5 win.

Everton will now face the winner of Thursday's match between Real Madrid and Los Angeles Galaxy in the second round of the pre-season tournament.
