Melbourne Victory are to lose A-League championship midfielder Billy Celeski to the Middle East.
The 28-year-old is to join United Arab Emirates outfit Al Shaab CSC, with the two clubs having agreed to a transfer deal pending a medical clearance this week.
Celeski's move comes after he was able to showcase his skills in recent exhibition games against English Premier League heavyweights Manchester United, while representing the A-League All-Stars, and Liverpool.
The consistent midfielder, who was part of the Victory's 2008-09 championship-winning team, completed more passes last season than any other player in the competition.
"Billy has been an integral part of Victory's team over several years and in the past week or so we have seen him perform very well against some of the best midfielders in the world," coach Ange Postecoglou said.
"We wish Billy all the best for the upcoming season in the Middle East."
Celeski joins star attacking pair Marco Rojas and Marcos Flores as players to have left the Victory during the off-season.
