Antolin Alcaraz and Magaye Gueye have been ruled out of Everton’s pre-season tour of the United States due to injury, the club have confirmed.
Alcaraz, 31 on Tuesday, has a hamstring problem and did not feature in last Saturday's 3-1 friendly win at Blackburn.
The centre-back arrived at Goodison Park on a free transfer earlier this month after his contract at Wigan expired.
Forward Gueye, 23, picked up a knock during the 4-1 win at Accrington on July 17 and also missed the match at Ewood Park.
Alcaraz missed a large chunk of last season through injury, tearing a groin muscle while on international duty with Paraguay last September, a problem that kept him out for more than five months.
He then suffered a torn hamstring during Wigan’s 2-0 Premier League defeat at West Ham on April 20, but recovered in time to play the full 90 minutes as they beat Manchester City 1-0 in the FA Cup final three weeks later.
On Sunday, Everton arrived in San Francisco and will face Juventus on Wednesday in the first of three matches in the pre-season International Champions Cup - an eight-team competition.
They will then take on Real Madrid or LA Galaxy in Los Angeles on Saturday, before facing one of four teams - AC Milan, Inter Milan, Chelsea or Valencia - in their final game in Miami, either on Tuesday, August 6 or Wednesday, August 7.
After that, Everton will return to Merseyside to prepare for their final pre-season game, against Real Betis at Goodison Park on Sunday, August 11.
