Jurgen Klopp believes new recruit Henrikh Mkhitaryan is the perfect addition for Borussia Dortmund as his side attempt to reclaim their Bundesliga title.

Mkhitaryan grabbed a goal and an assist in his impressive debut for Dortmund last week, but suffered an ankle injury after scoring another goal in Tuesday's friendly win over FC Luzern.

Klopp believes the Armenia international's immediate impact proves he is an ideal signing.

"Mkhitaryan fits us like an arse in a bucket," he told Bild. "What he offers is exactly what we need."

Klopp is also confident Dortmund have adequate cover until the 24-year-old returns from injury.

He said: "In the Champions League finals, Marco Reus played in that position. We have a few options."
