Keisuke Honda has said he would be "honoured" to sign for AC Milan amid reports the Serie A club are eager to wrap up a summer deal for the Japan international.

Honda, 27, currently plies his trade in Russia with CSKA Moscow having joined the club from VVV-Venlo in 2010, but he has recently been linked with an exit.

It is claimed a Rossoneri delegation is set to travel to Moscow to meet with CSKA in a bid to wrap up a deal before the start of the 2013-14 season.

Honda's contract expires at the end of the year, but Milan are said to be eager to conclude an agreement this summer - and the player has confirmed his interest in a switch.

"I’ve spent three-and-a-half wonderful years with CSKA and now I want to play for a big club," he told sovsport.ru. "My club know about Milan’s interest and my desire to go there. All I can say is that I would be honoured to go to Milan."

Honda is, however, likely to be wearing a CSKA shirt when they kick off their 2013-14 season and he has vowed not to be distracted by the speculation over his future.

He added: "For now, I am not going to let other thoughts distract me. I am remaining focused on doing my job. It’s my brother who is dealing with my other business."
