Bayern Munich sporting director Matthias Sammer has played down suggestions the club have wrapped up a deal for Barcelona's Thiago Alcantara.
New Bayern boss Pep Guardiola confirmed his interest in the Spain international this week, stating of his transfer plans: "It is either Thiago or nothing."
It has since been claimed a four-year contract has been agreed with the Manchester United target, but Sammer says the talk is premature.
"Why would we not communicate it if something was signed? No, of course that is not the case," Sammer told German newspaper Bild am Sonntag.
Guardiola handed the highly rated Thiago his Barcelona debut in 2009. The 22-year-old recently reiterated his quality as he played a key role in Spain's triumphant Under-21 European Championship campaign.
