Celtic midfielder Victor Wanyama is close to sealing a £12 million move to Southampton, ESPN has been told.
Wanyama, 22, has been linked with several Premier League clubs – but it now seems the Saints are close to winning the race for his signature.
Southampton manager Mauricio Pochettino appeared to have missed out on the Kenya international when his representative Ivan Modia revealed last month that a move to St Mary’s was “definitely off” after he failed to agree personal terms.
However, following Pochettino’s confirmation last week that he was keen to revive his interest in Wanyama, it is believed that the player is due at the club to finalise the transfer.
Wanyama played a key part as the Bhoys’ progressed to the last 16 of the Champions League last season, defeating Barcelona along the way.
Such displays ensured he would be a transfer target, and Arsenal and Cardiff have also been linked with a move for him.
