Villarreal have confirmed the signing of Mallorca forward Giovani dos Santos is imminent, with reports suggesting the Mexico international will agree to a four-year deal.
Mallorca were relegated from La Liga last season after finishing just one point away from safety, with Villarreal promoted to the top flight after finishing second in the Segunda division.
Dos Santos, 24, was reportedly keen to remain in Spain and rejected strong approaches from MLS side Los Angeles Galaxy.
It is believed the former Tottenham striker will complete his move to El Madrigal on July 18, where he is set to link up with former Mallorca team-mate Tomas Pino.
"To make sure Pino isn't on his own, one of his team-mates from Mallorca will be coming with him - Dos Santos," Villarreal president Fernando Roig said.
