Portugal defender Miguel Lopes has joined Ligue 1 side Lyon on a season-long loan deal from Sporting Lisbon.
Lopes' rights are still partly owned by former club Porto, but that could change next season, with Lyon given an option to buy the right-back if his loan is successful.
The 26-year-old made just seven league appearances for Sporting last season after sealing a January transfer from Porto.
A statement on Lyon's official website confirmed Lopes underwent a medical on Sunday and will finalise personal terms in Lisbon before completing the move.
He will join up with his new team-mates this week ahead of their pre-season trip to New York.
