Hull City have completed the signing of Scotland goalkeeper Allan McGregor from Besiktas for £1.8 million.
McGregor, 31, has signed a three-year deal at the KC Stadium and becomes manager Steve Bruce’s fifth summer signing.
The arrival of the former Rangers player, who spent a solitary season in Turkey, ends Hull’s long search for a first-choice goalkeeper.
Bruce had earlier targeted Leicester’s Kasper Schmeichel before switching his attention to McGregor when the Championship club refused to lower their £4 million asking price.
Ben Amos, on loan from Manchester United, and David Stockdale, borrowed from Fulham, were in goal when the Tigers won promotion to the Premier League last season, and Hull have not owned their regular goalkeeper since Matt Duke lost his place in 2010.
Bruce has already signed Peterborough midfielder George Boyd, Sunderland wing-back Ahmed Elmohamady and defenders Maynor Figueroa and Curtis Davies from Wigan and Birmingham respectively.
The former Birmingham, Wigan and Sunderland manager also wants to bring in two strikers to bolster a side that lacked a prolific goalscorer last season.
However, while Hull have made bids for Burnley's top scorer Charlie Austin and Celtic forward Gary Hooper, a source said reports that both were close to signing should not be believed.
