PSV Eindhoven defender Erik Pieters has joined Stoke City on a four-year contract, the Premier League club announced on Friday.
Stoke reportedly paid £3 million as Mark Hughes completed his first signing since taking over at the Britannia Stadium in May.
Pieters, 24, looked set to join Stoke in January before an injury halted the move. The Holland international has revealed he always had an ambition to play in the Premier League and is hopeful of taking on a more attacking role at Stoke.
Hughes insists Pieters' versatility was the decisive factor for Stoke.
