The 46-year-old Adams retired from professional football in 2002, and has enjoyed coaching spells at Wycombe Wanderers, Portsmouth and most recently Azerbaijani side Gabala FC where he left after 18 months.

Seemingly keen to continue his career outside of England, Antalyaspor president Gültekin Gencer confirmed discussions with the Gunners' former captain had taken place.

"It's true. We are in talks [Tony Adams], however, we are also considering a number of Turkish managers," Gencer told DHA.

If successful, Adams would replace former Turkish international Mehmet Özdilek who recently resigned as manager of the club after five years in charge.

Promoted to the Super League in the 2008-2009 season under Özdilek's guidance, the Scorpions have enjoyed relative success during his tenure and finished 7th in the Super League last season.
