The winger struggled to keep his place in United’s first team last season – starting just seven Premier League games as the Red Devils won the title - and new manager David Moyes is believed to be ready to let the Portugal international go this summer.

Galatasaray are among a number of clubs reportedly interested in acquiring the services of Nani, who has just a year left on his United contract.

However, the Turkish champions claim that they have now given up their pursuit of the player as they cannot meet United’s £8.5 million valuation.

"We offered €7 million [£6 million] for him. But they didn't accept. We can't give more than this,” Galatasaray chairman Unal Aysal said.

"We are not going to follow Nani anymore. We can't give more than €7 million for him. They want €10 million [£8.5 million]. Because of this he is not on our transfer list anymore."
