Tottenham transfer target Bernard has been told he would benefit more from a move to Borussia Dortmund than a switch to North London.
Spurs have been tracking the 20-year-old Brazil international midfielder, with Dortmund also registering a strong interest as they look to replace Bayern-bound Mario Gotze.
Bernard’s international team-mate Dante believes the Bundesliga would be better suited to his colleague's style as he considers which club to join from Brazilian side Atletico Mineiro.
Defender Dante, who plays for Bayern Munich, believes the English game would be too physical for the 5ft 4in Bernard - but a move to Germany, where the game is less physical, would give his technical skills the chance to shine.
“I talked a bit with Bernard and I explained the philosophy of this country,” he said. “He is a talented boy who will adapt to Germany. I gave him some tips.
“He may not have a physique like many other players, but he is a player who would suit Borussia Dortmund’s style.”
