Napoli’s Edinson Cavani has said it would be a pleasure to work for a manager such as Jose Mourinho or Manuel Pellegrini.

The Uruguay international striker, who has a £53 million release clause in his contract, has been linked with a summer move to the Premier League.

And his admiration for new Chelsea manager Mourinho and Pellegrini, expected to be named as Manchester City boss in the near future, could make those clubs possible destinations.

Chelsea - managed for the second time by Mourinho – are reported to be the favourites for his signature, and Napoli have confirmed that talks with the London club have taken place.

"I don't know if they have made an offer, but I just know that to be coached by people like Manuel Pellegrini and Jose Mourinho would always be a pleasure," Cavani told Omnisport.

"When the time is right, it would be great to play for one of those teams because, as a child, I always imagined doing it."

But the player, on international duty at the Confederations Cup, added: "At the moment, I am only thinking about Uruguay.

"Throughout my career, I have had to deal with rumours about signing for another team. I just have to keep my feet on the ground."
