Arsenal and Newcastle United are reportedly among a number of European clubs pursuing the Gabon international, who turns 24 later this month, after he was given permission to leave Les Verts this summer.

Having previously left open the possibility of him staying for a further Ligue 1 campaign, the former AC Milan youth academy player told RMC: "I think it was my last season at Geoffroy-Guichard."

He added that the Bundesliga, and not England, will be the most likely destination when he leaves.

"Today, there are big leagues such as Germany and England. My choice will certainly be between those two countries even if my dream is still to play in Spain. I still have to work a lot to be able to go to a big club like Real Madrid. I'm leaning rather towards Germany because football there is developing."

He added: "Bayern Munich and Dortmund have played quality football all year long. They got to the Champions League final. It's a great league. I can play in Germany."

Leverkusen sporting director Rudi Voller has watched Aubameyang in action in Ligue 1 recently while Dortmund are also reportedly keen on snapping up a striker who scored a career-high 19 league goals as Saint-Etienne finished fifth in the French top flight and won the Coupe de la Ligue.

"[Leverkusen] have contacted Saint-Etienne and my father,” Aubameyang added. “They had someone watching me every match. They have an interesting project, but I have to study all the offers. There's also Dortmund."

Asked about a switch within Ligue 1 to Paris Saint-Germain, he said: "It's not to be discounted, but an offer is needed. If it comes, I'll look at it. The project could be interesting as they're playing in the Champions League."
