Schalke centre-back Kyriakos Papadopoulos is focused on winning his place back in the team for next season, despite several Premier League sides reportedly being interested in the Greece international.

According to the German media, Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester City are among a number of clubs interested in Papadopoulos, 21, who has a buy-out clause of €21 million in his Schalke contract.

The defender struggled for game time last season and has not played a minute of Bundesliga football since undergoing a knee operation in December, while he is currently being treated in Greece following further surgery in April.

Papadopoulos’ agent, Paul Koutsoliakos, however, insists that his client is not thinking about a possible transfer.

“Kyriako is fully focused on returning in time for the first training session of the upcoming season. He is sort of on plan,” he told Bild.

Papadopoulos joined the Royal Blues from Olympiakos for €2 million in 2010, and until his injury, had racked up 91 appearances for the club.
