Toronto FC have signed Queens Park Rangers defender Tal Ben Haim on loan until June 30.
Ben Haim, 31, joined QPR on a short-term contract in January as Harry Redknapp looked to shore up his defence in the battle against relegation.
He had previously been with financially troubled Portsmouth, leaving the League One side in August after an agreement was reached to terminate his contract.
The Israel international, who began his career with Maccabi Tel Aviv, has previously represented Bolton, Chelsea, Manchester City, Sunderland and West Ham and will now link up with former QPR team-mate Ryan Nelsen, who took charge of Toronto on February 1.
"Tal Ben Haim has been one of the top defenders in the EPL for nearly a decade,” Toronto FC president and general manager Kevin Payne said. “He captains his national team and Ryan thinks the world of him. He's exactly the sort of defender we need."
