Podolski struggling with ankle injury
Arsenal forward Lukas Podolski could miss Germany's tour of the US in late May due to an ankle injury that may require surgery.
Podolski, 27, has been struggling with the problem and has needed painkilling injections in order to make himself available for selection.
The former Cologne player will consult medical staff after the domestic season has finished to decide whether he needs to go under the knife in the summer.
"I have minor problems with my ankle, but I don't think I will need surgery," Podolski told Sky Sports in Germany on Monday.
Should Podolski, who has 108 caps to his name, have surgery, he will likely miss Germany's games against Ecuador and United States in late May and early June.
The striker also said he was "pleased" with the way his first season at Arsenal had panned out. "We still have two games. If we win those we will be in Champions League next year," he added.
