Tottenham manager Andre Villas-Boas says he is concentrating on finally staying at a club for more than one season rather than on any attention from abroad.

Real Madrid are reportedly interested in the Spurs boss and, in the event of him leaving in the summer, it would mark the third consecutive job in which the Portuguese has left after a year or less in his brief managerial career.

"At the moment I am very, very focused on trying to get another year at one club," Villas-Boas said. "The same club!"

Although the former Chelsea manager admits to being flattered by the reported interest from Madrid, he says he is fully focused on the job in hand at White Hart Lane.

"I have a contract. I was given an opportunity and was extremely grateful," he said. "The speculation about Real Madrid comes from the coach [Jose Mourinho] having speculation all over the world about his exit - Real Madrid are looking for a coach and the coach there is under a contract. The fact he made it public that he is looking for an exit has ended up with a lot of speculation. For me it is always an honour but I am completely focused.

"It's very obviously flattering but I think at the moment everybody is being linked with the Real Madrid job because there are now lots of coaches around."

Despite reiterating his commitment to Tottenham, Villas-Boas did concede that he retains long-term ambitions to manage in South America at some point in the future.

"Definitely," he said." Brazil, my feelings are the same. I would definitely move very, very soon to a club in a different league."
