Mulumbu sorry for booting ball at O'Neil
Youssouf Mulumbu has apologised for his petulance that led to him being shown a late red card in West Bromwich Albion's 3-1 loss at West Ham United on Saturday.
During injury-time at Upton Park, Mulumbu reacted to a challenge from Gary O'Neil, with the midfielder frustrated at not being awarded a free-kick.
The Congo international proceeded to pick up the ball and kick it at O'Neil, which ultimately led to a dismissal from referee Andre Marriner.
Mulumbu, 26, wrote on his official Twitter account after the game, expressing his regret at his actions that he admitted were unacceptable.
I'm Really sorry about what I happen this afternoon it doesn't look like me.not a good exemple for the Kids and all the WBA's supporter...— Youssouf Mulumbu (@mulumbuofficial) March 30, 2013
West Brom were easily beaten by the Hammers, who took a three-goal lead thanks to a brace from Andy Carroll and a goal from O'Neil, before Graham Dorrans scored a consolation from the penalty spot.
