Tahiti have defeated Solomon Islands 2-0 in their Oceania World Cup qualifier in Papeete.

Donovan Bourebae opened the scoring for Tahiti in the 28th minute at the Stade Pater, before playmaker Nicholas Vallar clinched victory with a second goal eight minutes prior to full-time.
The two nations finish bottom of the table in the Third Round of qualification in the Oceania group on three points, with New Zealand set to take on the fourth-placed qualifier in the CONCACAF region over two legs in November.
The match was the penultimate qualifier for the Solomon Islands, who will host New Zealand next Tuesday. The All Whites are set to make sweeping changes to their squad for the match in Honiara.
