Theo Walcott has been ruled out of England's World Cup qualifying double header with San Marino and Montenegro and is set to fly back to London for treatment on a groin injury.
The Arsenal forward was expected to play a key part for manager Roy Hodgson as the Three Lions look to try to reclaim top spot in Group H with back-to-back victories.
But Walcott is to make his way back to his club for treatment on a "minor hip/groin injury" that he suffered during training.
A statement on Arsenal's official website read: "Theo Walcott will be forced to miss out on England's games against San Marino and Montenegro due to a minor hip/groin injury.
"The Arsenal forward sustained the problem in training with the national team on Thursday and will fly back on Saturday to be assessed by the Club's medical staff."
