Jol took over at Craven Cottage in June 2011, signing a two-year deal with the option of another year to be added at the club's discretion which the Guardian claim has been authorised without the need for an official announcement.

After leading the Whites to 9th place last season, the Dutchman has had similar success this year with the club edging closer to safety in 10th and he is viewed as the man to take the London club forward.

Fulham have a number of players whose contracts expire this summer, notably captain Brede Hangeland and goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer, but also Mladen Petric, Mahamadou Diarra, Giorgos Karagounis, Chris Baird and Simon Davies.
