Miyaichi, who is out for the remainder of the season due to an ankle injury, has impressed Martinez this season, despite making only six appearances for the club, while on loan from parent club Arsenal.

And the Spaniard believes the 20-year-old has a big future at the Latics, but only if Gunners manager Arsene Wenger will allow another stint.

``We will have to speak with Arsenal and we need to assess and make sure they are happy with the progression of the player,'' said Martinez.

``Ryo is a footballer that we really admire and has an incredible future in front of him so if we could work with him for a longer period we would be very happy to do that.''
