On Monday, Palermo announced the sacking of Gian Piero Gasperini after the club's 2-1 loss at Siena left them at the bottom of the Serie A table.
Gasperini was put in charge of the club as a replacement for Sannino, before being sacked in February with Alberto Malesani brought in.
Malesani left in March, leading to Gasperini's return, only for the Italian to be relieved of his duties this week, paving the way for Sannino to make his comeback.
Palermo confirmed on their official website on Tuesday that Sannino is back in charge and will take training in the afternoon, as the club prepare for their trip to AC Milan on Sunday.
