Huszti injured after scoring penalty
Hannover midfielder Szabolcs Huszti has been ruled out for several weeks after suffering a thigh injury while taking a penalty at the weekend.
Hustzi, 29, was a victim of the slippery surface at the AWD-Arena on Saturday, falling over after converting a penalty during his side's 5-1 win over Hamburg.
The Bundesliga club announced on Monday that the Hungary international was due to undergo surgery, therefore ruling him out for a number of weeks. Local paper Neue Presse, however, claim the surgery could even keep the player out of action for the rest of the season.
The injury is a blow to Hannover with Huszti having scored nine goals and created 11 in 21 Bundesliga appearances this term, also scoring another five in 12 Europa League games.
The player's absence means the Lower Saxony side are now missing both of their first-choice wingers, with Lars Stindl also sidelined with injury.
On Saturday, Stindl was again replaced by Ivory Coast forward Didier Ya Konan, who scored a brace, while Konstantin Rausch replaced Huszti after he picked up his injury.
