Lazio coach Vladimir Petkovic says his team cannot complain about fatigue following Europa League games, stressing that the added fixtures are merely a byproduct of success.

Lazio, who drew 3-3 away to Borussia Monchengladbach on Thursday evening, were able to move this weekend's encounter with Siena to Monday evening and Petkovic says there can be no excuses.

"We have no alibis," he told a press conference on Sunday. "Europe can cause tiredness, as we saw with Juventus losing to Roma last night, but we wanted the bicycle, so now let's get pedalling. We are close to the levels we were at a few weeks ago, so I am not worried."

Lazio can move within eight points of Serie A leaders Juventus if they beat Siena, but Petkovic said he is not thinking about a title challenge.

"If anything we're looking over our shoulder, seeing as from the start of the season people treat us as if we're a little club," he said.

Siena have proved a tricky opponent for Lazio, who have won just once in their last five meetings with the Tuscan side, and Petkovic called on them to improve their concentration.

"We must not fail. This game will require us to play at 120% of our potential," he said. "It's true we have been a little unlucky recently, but fortune favours the brave. It just means we must be more concentrated and gritty, especially in defence. We can't keep conceding goals on set pieces!"
