Vukcevic recovering well after crash
Hoffenheim midfielder Boris Vukcevic is recovering well from the head injuries he suffered in a serious car accident in late September, the club's general manager, Andreas Muller, has said.
Muller visited the 22-year-old at the rehabilitation centre in which he is being treated, and said he was "confident and has strong belief".
Vukcevic, a Germany Under-21 international, was in a coma for seven weeks after the accident. His recovery has been progressing well, and Muller said: "It was very moving to see Boris again and have a chat with him.
"He's still got a long road ahead of him, but he's confident and has strong belief."
Bild reported that Vukcevic was already able to use a treadmill.
On his last appearance for Hoffenheim before the crash, Vukcevic helped them to a 3-0 win at Stuttgart that left them 11th in the table.
However, they won only two of the next 16 games, plunging into relegation trouble, but Vukcevic said he believed his team-mates could rescue their season.
"I still get chills every matchday, and I am certain that the team will stay up," he was quoted as saying.
