Everton midfielder Magaye Gueye has joined Ligue 1 outfit Brest on loan for the rest of the season.

Gueye, 22, has been given the green light to switch to the French club prior to the close of the transfer window.

Having moved to Goodison Park from Strasbourg in June 2010, Gueye made just six appearances for the Toffees this season.

Brest, meanwhile, are currently only four points above the Ligue 1 relegation zone and will be hoping the midfielder can help them avoid the drop.
