Schalke 04 general manager Horst Heldt does not fear meeting a significantly reinforced Galatasaray side in the Champions League next month.

Schalke take on Galatasaray in the last-16 and with the Turkish side having added former Chelsea star Didier Drogba and Netherlands international Wesley Sneijder to their squad during the transfer window they look a more challenging proposition.

Galatasaray still need to find a resolution to a challenge from Drogba's former club, Shanghai Shenhua, who claim to still hold the player's registration. But even if Drogba is spearheading their European challenge, Heldt insists Schalke have the quality to progress to the quarter-finals.

"They are two outsanding players," Horst told a press conference. "But in the past we have beaten an Inter side that included Sneijder. We will not be awestruck."

During the Royal Blues' Champions League run in 2011, Schalke recorded a historic 5-2 win at the San Siro in the quarter-finals, though they would later lose in the semis to Manchester United.

Heldt has also been busy in the transfer market throughout the winter window. After the departure of midfielder Lewis Holtby, who joined Spurs ahead of schedule this week, Schalke were able to lure Brazil international Michel Bastos.

"We have our qualities, too," Heldt added. "It will be a duel at eye level."

Schalke are currently placed sixth in the Bundesliga and entertain bottom of the league Greuther Furth this weekend, with Bastos expected to make his debut.
