Robinho and Zlatan Ibrahimovic have hailed Mario Balotelli’s proposed move to AC Milan, which looks set to be completed on Wednesday.

Balotelli, 22, is expected to undergo a medical with the Rossoneri after the club finally agreed a deal for the player with Manchester City.

The Italy international’s arrival has been well received by his future Milan team-mates, who hope he can help boost the side’s chances of qualifying for the Champions League.

"Balotelli is a great player and will come to help the team," Robinho told the Milan Channel.

"We are happy and the locker room awaits him with open arms. We hope he can have a great season here at Milan.”

Ibrahimovic, who played with Balotelli at Inter Milan, joined Robinho in heaping praise on the striker’s return to Italy.

“I am happy for Milan and for Balotelli," he told Sky Italia.

"I can only speak highly and say positive things on both the player and the club. Thiago Silva and I are happy that things are going well for Milan.”
