Lugano leaves PSG for Malaga
Malaga are to sign Uruguayan defender Diego Lugano from Paris Saint-Germain on loan, after the two Qatari-backed clubs agreed a deal to share his wages for the rest of the season.

Signed from Fenerbahce in summer 2011, Lugano, 32, has faded from view under current PSG coach Carlo Ancelotti and has not played a competitive game for the Ligue 1 club this season.
The 2011 Copa America-winning captain arrived at the Costa del Sol club on Tuesday morning, where he was to undergo a medical before training for the first time with his new team-mates.
Malaga coach Manuel Pellegrini has been keen to bring in experienced cover for first choice centre-backs Martin Demichelis and Weligton, with US international Oguchi Onyewu the only other specialist in his squad.
Lugano will be the club’s second loan signing during the January transfer window, following last week’s capture of Chelsea youngster Lucas Piazon. Both players are eligible for the Boquerones’ Champions League campaign having not featured in the competition yet this season.
