Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko believes the club can close the gap on Manchester United, as he is confident their title rivals will drop more points.

United's lead at the Premier League summit was reduced to five points on Sunday due to their 1-1 draw at Tottenham, with City having beat Fulham 2-0 the previous day.

And City's top scorer, with 11 in all competitions, feels his side should just concentrate on winning their own games to put themselves in a position to capitalise.

"We have to just keep doing what we're doing," Dzeko told City's official website.

"I think Manchester United will drop points sooner or later but we just need to keep winning and keep the pressure on them."

City's fifth successive victory on Saturday was secured by two goals from David Silva, who trebled his tally for the season.

"David took his goals really well and he is disappointed he didn't maybe get a third, but I'm really pleased for him," Dzeko said.

Despite missing the chance to add to his tally for the season against Fulham, the Bosnia international was more concerned about the team securing the right result.

"I'm disappointed I didn't score, but I think I played okay. As long as we keep winning, I'm happy," he said.
