Celtic have signed youngster Tomas Rogic from A-League outfit Central Coast Mariners on a four-and-a-half-year deal.
The transfer of Rogic, 20, has now been finalised - subject to a work permit - after the midfielder had been on trial at the Scottish champions during their mid-season training camp in Spain.
Fulham, Queens Park Rangers and Reading had also shown interest in a player who won his first cap for Australia recently, but Celtic was Rogic’s preferred destination.
A statement from Celtic read: "Celtic are delighted to announce the signing of Australian Tom Rogic on a four-and-a-half year deal, subject to a work permit.
"The club can confirm an application will be made to the appropriate authorities in the next couple of days."
Rogic is Celtic's second singing of the January transfer window after they secured defender Rami Gershon on loan from Standard Liege until the end of the season.
