Pennant, 29, joined the Championship club in October hoping for a successful period at Molineux that would help reignite his Stoke career.

However, the winger failed to impress during the 12 appearances he made at the club, with Wolves struggling near the bottom of the Championship.

The Potters, though, have made it clear that Pennant will not be frozen out at the Britannia Stadium, with the possibility that he may even be considered for Saturday's Premier League clash with Chelsea.

"It hasn't been the easiest of times because results haven't been great, so it doesn't sound as though he was a roaring success (at Wolves)," Stoke's assistant manager Dave Kemp said.

"I don't think he played as much as he would have liked. But he comes back a Stoke player and we take things from there."
