Ben Haim, 30, is a free agent after leaving Portsmouth in the summer and has been training with QPR since the beginning of December.
"Tal has worked hard [in training] and we will look to give him a contract until the end of the season," Redknapp said after his team's 1-0 win at Chelsea on Wednesday night.
"He may be added to the squad. He is keen to have a go with us."
The Israel international's first taste of football in England was with Bolton in 2004. He has since had spells at Chelsea, Manchester City, Sunderland and Portsmouth.
