Bayern Munich have sent midfielder Mitchell Weiser out on loan to Bundesliga II club 1.FC Kaiserslautern.

Weiser, 18, signed a contract at Bayern last summer after joining from Cologne but has since only made one appearance for the club - their 4-0  DFB Pokal win over Kaiserslautern.

"We are happy to have signed a very talented player, whose qualities could help us," Kaiserslautern chief executive Stefan Kuntz said.

Weiser, who had also been linked with a move to Bayer Leverkusen, has made nine appearances for Bayern’s reserves, scoring twice.
