Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris has said he was "terrified" by the sight of Swansea forward Michu lying on the ground following a heavy collision between the pair towards the end of Spurs' 1-0 win on Sunday.
Lloris came off his line to punch clear in the dying stages of the match at White Hart Lane on Sunday, but collided with Michu.
Referee Mike Dean waved play on as the Spaniard lay motionless, and Andros Townsend almost scored a second for the hosts.
But Lloris said his only concern had been for Michu's welfare, adding: "I was terrified when I saw him on the ground.
"I had to go for it and impose myself. I made the decision to punch, and unfortunately there was a big collision.
"It's OK - he got up, and it was more a fear than injury. I asked him several times, and he said: 'There's no problem.'
Swansea boss Michael Laudrup was furious about the incident after the match, saying Spurs should have played the ball out while Michu's condition was checked.
