Marseille midfielder Mathieu Valbuena says he is keen to commit his long-term future to the club but is in no hurry to finalise the terms of a new deal.

Valbuena, 28, has been in talks with l'OM over a deal that would keep him at the Stade Velodrome until 2017 but he has yet to put pen to paper like goalkeeper Steve Mandanda, who signed a four-year extension earlier this week.

Despite the delay, however, the France playmaker insists he would be happy to stay at Marseille.

"Yes, we are still in negotiations," Valbuena said after scoring a stunning volley in Wednesday's victory over Bastia. "It's been pretty long. It does not bother me to sign on long term to OM.

"I flourish here, I've already won titles and we are having a great season this year, so why not?

"It is in view. It is being discussed. I have often been asked about the possibility of finishing my career here. I'm in Marseille, I feel good and fulfilled.''
