A-League cellar dwellers Sydney FC have sacked Gary Cole as their football director.
The club announced on Monday Cole had been made redundant with immediate effect, after it decided to make "structural changes" to its football department.
The move comes the same day incoming coach Frank Farina officially takes the reins of the Sky Blues, following their scoreless draw with Melbourne Heart on Sunday.
Cole was hired by Sydney in December last year, eight months after he had been sacked by Melbourne Victory.
"On behalf of Sydney FC, I'd like to thank Gary Cole for the work he did in his time at the club and wish him the best of luck in the future," Sydney FC chief executive Tony Pignata said in a statement.
