David Trezeguet's future at River Plate is in doubt after his agent claimed two Italian sides are interested in negotiating a return to Serie A.

The French striker, 35, spent over ten years in Turin with Juventus, before his departure in 2010. He is under contract with River until 2014, but there may be scope for him to leave during the next transfer window.

"The supporters of Millonarios want him to stay, they even launched a petition," declared Antonio Caliendo on Radio Kiss Kiss.

"However he is called around the world and two Italian formations are particularly positioned on him."

The 1998 World Cup winner has no plans to hang up his boots from professional football anytime soon, despite his age.

One month ago, Trezeguet told the FIFA website he was "taking much pleasure in doing my job" and has no plans to retire. "There are also those who realise one day that the desire to train or play is no longer there. When I have that feeling, the time will come to stop."
