Marseille: Drobga loan return is 'fiction'
Marseille have dismissed reports that their former striker Didier Drogba could rejoin the club on loan following the end of the Chinese league season as "pure fiction".
Reports in France indicated that the Ivorian was looking for a two-month loan deal in order to maintain his fitness after Shanghai Shenhua's season ended.
His agent, Tcherno Seydi, indicated that he was interested in returning to the Stade Velodrome - a switch that would need special permission from FIFA, who had previously given the go-ahead to similar loan moves for both Thierry Henry, to Arsenal, and David Beckham, to Milan.
But Marseille sporting director Jose Anigo told Le Journal du Dimanche: "It seems impossible - this [speculation] is absurd", while president Vincent Labrune said the switch was "pure fiction".
Chelsea, another former club of Drogba's, and Juventus have also been linked with a short-term move for the striker.
