David Beckham has no plans to retire this season but will review his position with the Los Angeles Galaxy in December when there is a break clause in his contract, sources close to the player told ESPN FC.
Beckham and the Galaxy have mutual options to part ways when the MLS season ends at the start of December, but Beckham is currently focused on extending his career rather than going into retirement, though the 37-year-old Beckham will think seriously about a final decision next month.
When asked earlier this week if he had another season in him, Beckham said: "Who knows? I'm going to enjoy being in the playoffs ... and then we'll see how this body feels. Even when I stop playing, I'll have a hunger to do something better and be the best."
In recent years, he has spent the MLS offseason on loan at AC Milan while also training with Tottenham and Arsenal to maintain his fitness.
Beckham toyed with a move to Brazilian club Botafogo before he signed a two-year contract extension with the Galaxy in January, former Botafogo defender Carlos Alberto told ESPN Brazil.
The Daily Mail's entertainment section reported last week that Beckham would quit the Galaxy to move to New York at the end of the season so his wife could pursue her burgeoning fashion career. Victoria Beckham was reported to have viewed properties and schools in Manhattan including the Convent of The Sacred Heart school for their daughter Harper.
The Galaxy beat the San Jose Earthquakes 3-1 in the MLS playoffs on Wednesday and face the Seattle Sounders in the Western Conference finals over two legs Nov. 11 and 18 before a possible final Dec. 1.
