Defender Ben Sigmund isn't pointing any fingers as the Phoenix look to shake off last week's disappointing loss to Melbourne Victory with a rejuvenated effort against Central Coast Mariners in Wellington on Sunday.Sigmund watched the 3-2 loss from the comfort of a Wellington pub, serving a one-match suspension after picking up a controversial red card against Adelaide the previous week.The Victory controlled all but the closing stages of the match, with two late Jeremy Brockie goals lending the Phoenix scoreline some respectability.Sigmund says the match was tough to watch, and he's unsure whether his presence would have made any difference."I could have been playing and the same thing could have happened," he said."We didn't set up very well, we were a bit lazy on defence, and the whole shape was all over the place."The high-flying Mariners, second on the ladder to the Phoenix's eighth, offer a shot at redemption, albeit a challenging one after they destroyed Sydney FC 7-2 last week.Sigmund says Central Coast, who have beaten the Phoenix in their last three outings in Wellington, have offered a consistent threat in recent years.Players like Daniel McBreen, who notched up the Mariners' first hat-trick on Saturday, and young midfielder Tomas Rogic have impressed Sigmund, but he says the good work done by All Whites midfielder Michael McGlinchey is easy to overlook."Michael McGlinchey's been doing really, really well. He's setting up a lot of goals, but also scoring a couple as well."But in saying that, the whole team's decent ... Daniel McBreen did very well the other day. He puts a lot of pressure on the backline, and we've got to be wary of that."A couple of solid training sessions have blown away the cobwebs from the Melbourne game, and Sigmund says expectations have been laid down for Sunday's sixth-round match."Everyone's got a job and a task they've got to do, and if they don't do it, they'll be on the bench."This weekend's important.
