Popovic waits on selection calls

Western Sydney Wanderers coach Tony Popovic has not ruled out changing his team for Friday night's A-League clash with Melbourne Heart despite their confidence-building win over Brisbane Roar.

The rookie club is searching for back-to-back wins at Parramatta Stadium after a huge 1-0 upset win over the Roar at Suncorp Stadium last week.

Striker Joey Gibbs impressed in that victory but Popovic said he was no certainty to remain in the starting line-up with Croatian frontman Dino Kresinger some chance to return from a hip injury.

Popovic was waiting to see how Kresinger came through training on Thursday before deciding on his team.

"Joey obviously did a very good job (against Brisbane), as did everyone." Popovic said.

"... But every game you've got to take on its merits and judge each game differently and if Dino's fit, then we'll make a decision on it."

While the Wanderers were always upbeat after some encouraging performances in the opening rounds, Popovic said spirits were even higher after the breakthrough win against the Roar.

"I'm sure the players would be feeling good about themselves that with performances they've been putting in. There's a result to show for it now," he said.
