A win would have taken Gremio above Atletico Mineiro in the table, but the draw leaves them a point behind having played a game more.

Elsewhere on Saturday, Corinthians and Bahia drew 1-1 with the home side taking the lead through a 12th-minute penalty from Dos Santos Douglas. Leandro Matos equalised for Bahia on 33 minutes.
