Verratti, 19, joined the big-spending Ligue 1 club from his home town team Pescara in a €13 million move during the summer.
He has made a strong start to life in the French capital, establishing himself as a key part of coach Carlo Ancelotti's plans and winning his first Italy cap in the summer friendly against England.
And Baresi, who won 81 caps for Italy and lifted the World Cup in 1982, told RMC: "He is very young but already very professional and mature.
''He's going to be very strong. He'll gain experience in Paris, playing with great champions and being trained by Carlo Ancelotti, a very experienced coach. He will be important for this club."
